Depart from Naples Port about 8.00 am. at 9.00 am we should be at the viewpoint above Sorrento called scutolo, where we make a photostop.
We continue to cross the sorrentine peninsula, until we meet the point of St. Peter's hill, where we commence our descent on to the Amalfi Coast road. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to make plenty of photostops to admire the flora and fauna of the countryside. At about 9.30 am we are at the Belvedere viewpoint above the village of Positano, where we can admire the lovely village below. Here you can then decide whether you would prefer to carry on the same road to continue to have excellent views of the village, or to go down into the village itself, and make a short visit.
Positano: the pretty village of seaside villas, covered in orange blossom and roses, are cascading down to the sea. Also clearly seen is the lovely Church of Sant Maria of the Assumption, with its characteristic majolica tiled dome and bell tower.
Continuing along the coastal route, we will arrive at Conca dei Marini at approximately 10.30 am, where we make a comfort stop, at a bar, where we have the time to visit a ceramic showroom, with some of the best choices on the Amalfi Coast. At around 11.30 am we arrive in Amalfi.
Here we see the imposing Cathedral of Saint Andrew, with its many styles of decoration. we can also follow the charming little passages to visit the interesting local shops, perhaps sampling the local lemon liquer in the main square. Leaving amalfi we arrive at Ravello at about 12.30 pm.
Here you have time to visit the gardens of Villa Rufolo, the Church of Saint Pantaleone, and the quaint main square. You will also have the possibility to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants overlooking the bay.
Leaving Ravello after lunch, we sould arrive at Pompeii at around 02.30 P.M., where you will have approximately two hours to visit the site. We then will leave Pompei no later than 04.30 P.M. to reach the port of Naples within 05.00 P.M.
